Tours & Information Meetings
Families who would like to learn more about The Clearwater School and evaluate whether it would be a good fit should attend an information meeting or schedule a tour and visit during a school day. Email or call 425-489-2050 to schedule a tour. At our information meetings, you will hear from students, parents and staff about Clearwater and the Sudbury school model on which we are based. Information meetings feature a short presentation followed by a question and answer period. Refreshments are provided. Children are welcome, although childcare is not provided. Check the Events calendar for specific dates and times.
Student bus service available from Seattle
The Clearwater School offers daily bus service to our campus throughout the school year to students who live in Seattle. The bus currently serves three stops north of the Ship Canal along the I-5 corridor. Families who are interested in enrolling their children at The Clearwater School, but cannot drive them to and from school every day, may sign up for bus service and pay an annual or monthly rider fee. Clearwater Commons Seeks New Members
In 2006, several families from The Clearwater School joined together to purchase 7.4 acres across the street from the school and named it Clearwater Commons. The site includes wetlands, wooded spaces and a salmon stream and will house a deep-green, cohousing community with 16 households, a common house, shared shop, gardens and open space. Site infrastructure construction was completed in 2010, and construction on the first group of houses started in August 2011.
Inspired by but not directly affiliated with The Clearwater School, Clearwater Commons welcomes individuals and families who share a commitment to community creation, habitat restoration and sustainable living. The Commons seeks new members and has several units for sale. For more information, go to the website.
